Contact Ms. Hastings at ahastings@aao.org if there are training programs in Poland that may be interested in having their residents take the OKAP International exam.

Academy Express

The Academy partners with 70 societies resulting in over 80,000 ophthalmologists worldwide receiving Academy Express each week. We invite the POS to submit journal studies and society news for inclusion in Academy Express. Submit items to intlnews@aao.org.

Basic and Clinical Science Course (BCSC) Books and Exam

The Academy is making the Basic and Clinical Science Course (BCSC) eBook and print sets available to training programs at a discounted price when purchased in bulk (a minimum of 10 sets). BCSC sets may only be distributed to residents. If interested, the POS would be asked to coordinate the orders for the training programs and distribute the books when they arrive. Contact Ms. Hastings at ahastings@aao.org to place an order before 1 November.

The BCSC Self-Assessment Exam allows residents to test their knowledge at their convenience with 1,700+ (and growing) validated questions. The exam allows them to compare their performance with granular and aggregate normative data. Contact Ms. Hastings to learn more about bulk discounts available.

Ethics

The Redmond Ethics Center promotes professionalism and ethical practice through educational courses and activities, lectures, guidelines and other resources. The Academy welcomes you to utilize the materials on the Redmond Center.

EyeWiki

The EyeWiki is an eye encyclopedia written by ophthalmologists providing quick and reliable information on the vast spectrum of eye disease, diagnosis and treatment. The Academy invites you to participate in the EyeWiki.

Global Directory of Training Opportunities

The Academy launched its online Global Directory of Training Opportunities in rePOSnse to frequent requests from ophthalmologists around the world seeking information on training opportunities. This open-access directory is searchable by subspecialty and region and provides contact and other key information on each opportunity. The directory currently lists more than 2,500 training opportunities.

If your institution, practice, society or organization has training opportunities (e.g., fellowships, observerships, etc.), available to ophthalmologists from outside your country, we invite you to list your opportunities in this directory. Thank you for your participation in helping to make this a comprehensive resource.

EyeSmart

EyeSmart is the Academy’s website devoted to patient education. Patients can find medically accurate information about eye diseases, conditions and injuries. We encourage your society and your members to promote the site to patients and their families.

Museum of the Eye

The Academy is excited to announce its Museum of the Eye opening in October 2019 at the Academy’s Offices in San Francisco.
